CV templates that will help you land that London job

Alright, you’re ready to make the move. Aside from visa applications and flight bookings, the most important thing to get organised before you start your London job search is to get your CV in order. Below are some useful tips to help you get started, and we’ve created UK-centric CV templates for a number of different software programs - choose your poison!

CV-writing tips

Firstly, follow these tips to make it stand out:

  1. Keep it short and sweet: Keep your CV within two (max three) pages, and only include the most impressive and relevant stuff.
  2. Show 'em what you got: Start with a quick intro about yourself and your career goals. Make it catchy and appropriate to the type of work you're looking for.
  3. Demonstrate off your skills: List your work experience starting from the latest job. Describe your roles and what awesome things you achieved and how they are relevant to what you're looking for.
  4. Brag about your qualifications: Share your educational qualifications and any cool certifications you earned.
  5. Flaunt your superpowers: Highlight your key skills and abilities that match the job you want.
  6. Boast your achievements: Show off your shining moments and accomplishments. Numbers speak louder than words!
  7. Custom the fit: Tailor your CV for each job you apply for. Highlight what matters most to them.
  8. Use powerful words: Start your bullet points with strong action verbs. It's all about the impact!
  9. Quantify results: Whenever you can, use numbers to show the awesome results you achieved.
  10. Be ATS-friendly: Sneak in relevant keywords from the job description. Beat those ATS (Applicant Tracking System) bots!
  11. Look professional: Choose a clean font (we love Poppins!) and keep formatting consistent.
  12. Skip the fluff: Avoid unnecessary stuff, like your love for pizza or cat memes (unless you’re applying for a cat meme making role!).
  13. References: It’s not vital to include them. But have them handy in case you’re asked.
