Moving abroad may seem difficult, but really it’s just a case of following some simple steps. Here we give you a straightforward checklist to help keep your move on track.
Choose a moving date
Gather your required documents including a bank statement that shows you’ve had £2,530 for over 28 days and a passport with at least one blank page (and at least a year until it expires)
Apply for your visa through gov.uk
Pay for your visa and NHS surcharge
Attend your biometrics appointment at your nearest consulate
Visa success! Book your flights
Make sure you have enough savings to last you for your travel + six weeks in London (and a flat bond!)
Change your AU/NZ bank account mailing address to a UK address and get a statement mailed there (this will give you proof of a local address that makes setting up bank accounts easier)
